Change is the only sure thing in life

‘’You don’t need to be perfect to inspire others. Let people get inspired by how you deal with your imperfection.’’ I came across with this quote this morning and it resonated with me. My intention here has always been to share from the heart and remain transparent while doing so. Having lived on this planet for four decades has taught me that no one has life figured out completely and that it is OKAY. There are periods when we think we do but it’s nothing more than a fleeting illusory moment. The only sure thing in life is CHANGE and the fact that when we resist it, we resist life itself.

I marvel at my son how well he adapts to new realities and environments every time we move. He shows up for life 100% no matter where we are. Children are like that and in my experience the earlier they learn to go with the flow of life and accept the fact that change is an inevitable part of it the better they can cope with challenges and show up for life regardless of the circumstances.

While I do enjoy re-discovering my country of birth and do my best to focus on the good there are days when I find myself struggling to find my place and peace. There are days when I wish we’d leave even though I know it in my heart that right now this is the perfect place for us to be. Yet there are days when it just seems harder to accept this. I thrive on living and exploring new places and cultures I’ve never been to and the more different they are from the one I grew up in the more excitement and joy I find in the experience. I am forever grateful to be living the life we have chosen for ourselves with all its ups and downs. I’d do it all over again and wouldn’t change a thing. I believe everyone was put on this Earth to experience life differently. There’s no one way to show up and live life to the fullest. It’s up to us to follow our inner guidance aka our intuitions.

As Joseph Campbell once said “I don’t believe people are looking for the meaning of life as much as they are looking for the experience of being alive. Life is without meaning. You bring the meaning to it. The meaning of life is whatever you ascribe it to be. Being alive is the meaning.” I wholeheartedly agree with that.

With that said, I know we all go through the cycles of life. It’s how we all grow and reach our personal potential. Each cycle has its own seasons just like in nature. There’s a season to plant seeds, take actions, go out and explore the world for ourselves and then there’s time to go within and understand that life’s a process that requires patience and perseverance. The real reward is the person we become along the way. I feel blessed to have my husband and son by my side on this journey. They continue to be my greatest and most inspiring teachers in life and they’re the ones who encourage and support me even when I feel lost or disconnected. Leaning into the fullness and richness of life is not always easy but it’s definitely worthwhile. 💙💙
